10 miles from home to the end of the bike trail in Wellfleet and back.
Skipped the JJ Ramble, since it was just too much yesterday with the wedding and lack of sleep. Plus, without an ideal week, would it be such a good idea for me right now to try to really run a hard 10k? Likely not. So, I decided to just go and run a nice 10 on a gorgeous day before work.
Didn't really have my eyes on a progression run of any sort, just a good 10 to at least give me a 40+ mile/5 day light week.
Felt good from the start, but still eased into it.
By 3 at 6:15, which felt easy, I realized that this was a good day and a day that looked to be a good indicator of my fitness if it continued like this.
I didn't run the whole thing like a true fast progression, just a nice medium run that ended with 7, 8, 9 at 5:54, 5:51, 5:24. The first two were quite easy and even the last was smooth and not even at a real race effort. Finished with a 6:22 that still felt easy.
So, basically, if I can continue to get my distance strength back, stay healthy and get my miles up a bit, along with the regular track work, I see no reason to not think that I can have an excellent summer, perhaps even seeing a PR or two.
Really good run ending a week where I finally can say I under-trained and it was all ok.
