7 miles in Chatham with Dawn Varnum and Paul Hufnagel.
Dawn won the Hyannis 1/2 in 1:29 after running a 1/2 in 1:31 3 weeks ago in Providence. Mind you, she's my age. Then she shows up tonight and runs 6:48 pace with Paul and I, much of it down around 6:30, talking too.
The fact that she's been running this well for all of her adult life is simply amazing, not to mention she's come back from some tough stuff a few years back. Between her and Paul, who's always been fast and is still running really damned well at 50, it's with runs like this that I kind of get giddy and realize how lucky I am to get to hang with runners of this caliber. Good stuff.
