Friday, July 7th, 2012

13 miles @ 6:25 pace.
Got some new Mizuno Musha 3's and found them to be delicious. They're on sale again at Running Warehouse and with the discount they're @ $52, so I should be smart and just order a bunch of them.
Warmed up quick and felt good, so I just headed towards Wellfleet and eased into 6:45-ish pace.
Didn't take long before I started to feel strong and opened up and by 7, everything was clicking. Came off a hill into some traffic where I had to gun it after the 8 mile mark and that was it, I was off.
Felt smooth and easy doing a 5:49 at 9, then went a little harder, but still under control for a 5:36, then just went for it and hit a 5:21 for mile 11.
Pretty darned happy with where things are at. Going strong in my mid-long and long runs is exactly what I want to be doing right now. If I can throw in one 10k repeat session or one track workout a week, I should be in good shape come August. Then the only question will be whether I go for it at the Yankee 10, find something shorter 2 weeks out from Falmouth, or just save it all up and hit Falmouth with everything I've got on no racing for 6 weeks. We'll see.
