The first mile was down and then flat and then up and I got my turnover going immediately and went through in 4:58. next was more up and was 5:23. next was flat and was 5:12. The next was the dreaded sand, ice and gravel uphill extravaganza that is what makes George's race so wonderfully trying in even the best conditions. I did it in 5:40 and was just glad to come away with that. Finished strong and held on for a 5:19 pace for 4.48 miles. Good stuff and gives me a good feeling about the races coming up.
10 miles total for the day, 58 for the week.
