February 8, 2009

20 and it was solid. The Deegs and I headed up to P-Town to the Province Lands and hit the hills. We did the first 10 at 6:37 pace, and the second 10 at... 6:37 pace (though between the wind and the aforementioned sometimes long, slow and sometimes quick, steep hills, even energy distribution was the focus, which by coincidence alone ended up translating into even times.) We ran 2:12:27 for the whole thing.
I felt great. My legs were OK and my stride stayed long and smooth. My energy was fine and I had no cardiac creep at all. I could have gone sub 6:30 the whole way, but we all stayed within ourselves and also had to account for the fact that both Tom and Justin are still battling that damned bug I had for a month.
It was a tough day, condition-wise, but I feel strong and feel worthy of the 3rd CCAC Runner of the Year award I picked up last night. I'm psyched for the DH, but I'm really looking forward to New Bedford and The Big Prize.
