5 miles, what a weird day.
Drove to Providence for the USATF East Region Masters Championships (believe me, the name really is longer than my event.)
Watched as Sean Livingston, Kevin Oneil and Norm and Joe Oleary ran the mile and oh how I wished I had, if only to try to dip under 4:35 and see how it felt.
I was to run the 4x800 with Sean, Kevin and Norm, which we did. Unfortunately, no one else did. We were the only entry in the race.
Needless to say, it was difficult to gauge where I was at, apart from seeing the clock every 30 seconds or so.
I was the first leg and I jumped out too quick and was little herky jerky in the first 200. Went 34, 34, 33, 33 and finished my leg in 2:14. Norm went 2:18, Kevin went 2:12 and Sean was 2:10 for a 8:54. Not bad. Still a little competition would have been nice. Oy, what a day.
