Jan. 31st, 2011

8 miles indoors with 1 set of weights and core.
Felt so fresh after 2 light days and that little bit of sprinting yesterday, I felt like I could run right through the wall.
Like a jackass, I disregarded the fact that I ran hard yesterday and just ran like hell, warming up too fast and cranking it up to 11.8 too soon. I felt so easy running that 5:06 pace after getting used to the 4:30-ish pace the last couple weeks, that I forgot that's still asking the legs to scoot. Lo and behold, the right hammy barked and I didn't immediately listen, so it barked louder a few time and I stepped off the mill and did weights for 25 minutes.
Got back on and did another 4 on a 4-5% incline at 6:35, so it kept the heart rate up and didn't strain the hammy too much. Felt like I got a good 10 in, so I'll take it.
Found out the lineup for the NB Mile in an email after and Kevin Oneil got in, which I'm psyched for, both for him and for my own race, as I really want to commit to trying to hang with he and Livingston out there. I know they're out of my league, but I want to see if I push and really stick to it if I can get a good time.
