Feb. 1st, 2011

10 miles indoors.
When the hammy bugged yesterday, I cranked the elevation on the mill and the change in form not only helped, but I was able to get a really good heart rate going.
Today, after 2.5 miles at regular elevation, the hammy spoke up yet again, so I went right to 3.5% and soon after 4% and kept it there for 4 miles @ 6:53 pace, which works out to be an effort of @ 6:05 with the elevation. Went to 5% for the last mile.
Felt great to work the heart like that and use the arms with the climbing motion.
Brought it back down for a 1/2 mile, then back up to 5% for 3 more, then brought it in @ 6:15 pace level and after all that, it felt damned good and the hammy was OK.
I figure this will be my last hard anything until Saturday.
I can't do anything between now and Saturday except wait for my new spikes to get here (Zoom Victory's; very excited. Love ultra-light shoes) and try to stay relaxed.
