20 miles.
Headed up to Boston with Tom to meet up with Tim Cotoggio, Marc Leblanc and his buddies and Steve Plouffe. I woke up this morning to find that my hamstring, which even last night at work was tight as a high-E string, was feeling OK, not dandy, but usable.
We met up a bit after 10:00 and by 10:20 were on the road from Wellesley going towards Boston. The footing was mostly good, but there were long stretches of icy sidewalk where we had to slow it way down. Most of the actual running was 6:30 or so on the way out, but due to the warmup and the ice, we ran 1:08.
Turned around and came back strong and after a pee break at 13, picked it up and started hitting sub 6 uphill and into a strong, cold wind. I felt great and Marc and Tom were right there, with Steve and Tim close behind. I had a feeling the hammy might act up with the quicker stuff, and after a mile and a half, it barked a bit, so I was smart and backed off, but still, it felt great to go 5:45 or faster that late in a run.
Finished with another hard uphill climb and really close it out well, coming back in 1:04.
Excellent run and I really feel no stiffness or soreness in the legs at all, hamstring included. Energy-wise, I feel great as well. I know I ran a long run, but I'm far from spent.
