11 miles.
Ran around the extraordinarily beautiful 6A side of Barnstable with the ever-cool, ever-fast Jake Klim.
Really enjoyed seeing some somewhat familiar sights from past Barnstable Village 5 milers.
Great to see too that Jake's healed and has returned strong from the injury wheel of torture. He had a heck of strong run at a 1/2 last week. Extremely helpful for me to hear as well some of the basic rules of training and what works from a guy who knows what's what.
I'm looking at the rest of the summer as a return to form and a rehash of the training elements that got me all that late strength 3 years ago. Truth be told, it's not as if I got all that far away from it, but it's been nearly a year since I felt I could really train with any sense of the future. I know what it's going to take to get to that point again where 5:07 to 5:15 is something I can call on throughout any race, especially Falmouth (weather-permitting.)
Going long tomorrow after going to take pics at the Wellfleet Road Race (and not running it, that's for damned sure.)
