18 miles @ 6:32 overall.
Went out thinking 14 at least, more if the body cooperated. I was giving it some leeway due to two factors, the 83 degree temp and the 11 yesterday with Jake.
I took along a little "Nathan" water bottle that holds @ 14 oz. and has a convenient and comfy handstrap. While I can't help but think that to a small degree, I've just become one of the Fuel Belters I've long made fun of, the damned thing sure came in handy. Filled it 1/2 and 1/2 with Gatorade and water.
Warmed up with an easy one, but felt pretty rested and good from the start. Did the 5.25 to the end of the Wellfleet path and back and, save for numerous horsefly bites, felt no worse for the distance. Went 2.5 the other way before turning around and heading back again. Filled up the bottle with water at Arnolds and did the last 3, feeling a little tired, but really still not having to work hard for the pair of sub 6:15's and a 5:59 to close. Felt fine after and as I write this now, some 7 hours later, feel great.
Very happy with how that went. Now to go easy tomorrow and get ready to do another one of these in a week and a half or so.
3 or 4 more before Falmouth and getting in a few 10k workouts along with getting into the 75-90/per week range should have me toeing the line in good shape, ready to hold down some fast miles.
Longest run in almost a year and first 70 mile week in as much as well. Good stuff.
