9 miles. Bit of a setback today.
Went out with the intention of an admittedly brutal 12 x 1/2 mile @ 5:20 pace with 2 min. 6:30 pace recoveries. About 5 in, the right calf started to bug. By the 7th, I stopped for a second time to rub it out and decided to shut it down. Still got in 7 x 1/2 mile on pace, but this wiped out the afternoon run and will force a day off tomorrow, all ending up with a week of 70 (maybe.)
Still, the key is getting back to being able to do a double easy Friday, mile repeats Saturday and 15-16 Sunday. If I can do that, I will still be strong.

Seriously, you're in great shape, a few days off won't be a bad thing. Better the *stamp* this out now, then be dealing with it in a few weeks. Of course YOU, above all, know YOUR body best.

Hey, you know I need the words from the soapbox.
You're absolutely right. There's little to really add to the puzzle right now.
While a good weekend coming up may provide that little extra bit of fitness for the distance, I could go easy from here on out and be ready. And of course, none of it will matter if I go into it with a gimpy gam (which, I'm happy to say, is feeling better this a.m., though it's still getting a full day off today.)
